Habitat: Most abundant at ponds but found in various aquatic habitats in fertile, well-oxygenated lakes, ponds, slow parts of streams—usually swampy or boggy with floating vegetation/ample shoreline
vegetation. Often rests on floating vegetation (like water lilies), 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Skims slowly and gracefully over water very close to surface.
