Habitat: Widespread on slow-moving rivers & streams w/ rocky substrate; shady edges close to banks; often near rapids. Semi-crepuscular. Male usually seen exploring the edges of rivers or streams, flying close to the surface of the water, and investigating every nook & cranny without hovering. Most of day hangs under twigs in forests (often conifers). |
