Great were the expectations when a pair showed up and engaged in allopreening.
Both Kurt Schwarz and Bonnie Ott captured the display on video.
Would they nest? Would birders see fuzzy little black chicks later in the season?

Alas, it was not to be. The last photo shown was taken on May 31, 2020, and there was never an indication that the pair built a nest nor successfully raised young.
