And now for one that doesn’t count…

Unfortunately, the bird never moved and was in the same position the next day when more birders showed up for a look. Dead birds should not be counted on a person’s life list.
While not necessary for common species, it is good to get into the habit of including photographs and recordings/spectrographs so that you do it for uncommon species that require more documentation.
