Butterflies/Pollinators of Howard County
Pollinators
are
everywhere
Watch
for
them
Pollinators are critical for sustaining the world’s natural ecosystems. The main threats facing pollinators are habitat loss, degradation, and fragmentation. As native vegetation is replaced by roadways, manicured lawns, crops and non-native gardens, pollinators lose the food and breeding sites that are necessary for their survival.
Use the “Pollinator Resources” page provided by the Howard CountyBird Club to learn more. If your particular interest is butterflies, consult the “Butterfly References” page. If you regularly see butterflies, use the Butterfly Report to tell us.
