What about cancellations?
Meetings at the Robinson Nature Center are cancelled if the Howard County Government has announced government buildings are closed and will not open for the day. For other venues where a Howard County Bird Club (HCBC) event was scheduled, the cancellation will be posted on the front page of the HCBC website in a banner headline and on the website calendar. Field Trips and Workshops may be cancelled at the discretion of the leader and announced in advance when possible. Managed Deer Hunts in Howard County Parks and Open Space 2025-2026
Laura Wolf Birding in the Antarctic.
Laura recently visited the Antarctic and took extensive photos in preparation to use the images as the basis for her artwork. Laura Wolf is an elementary school art teacher and freelance artist. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Art Education from Towson University and has taught elementary school art for 18 years. Besides teaching she has mentored student teachers from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She combines her love of birds and birding into her artwork. She was the winner of the 2024 convention pin design for the Maryland Ornithological Society.
