Bridge on North Side of Lake

From 1986, when Centennial Park was opened, until October, 2019, the red bridge stood, but by then rust and decay had taken its toll, and it was time to replace it with a more environmentally friendly fiberglass superstructure. On November 25, 2019, the new bridge opened to pedestrian traffic, but the old bridge will live on in our memories and in this photograph.

Centennial Lake is particularly attractive when the lakes in the northern states have frozen but the surface of Centennial Lake still is open. When the resident Canada Geese keep a section open, rarities for Howard County may show up.
