Patapsco Scrublands

Details:Weather conditions were unusually cool for late May. Although the wind caused some birds to hunker down a bit, there was a good variety of birds with unusual sightings of an Olive-sided Flycatcher and a small flock of (probable) Tundra Swans. Everyone got super looks at Scarlet Tanagers, Baltimore Orioles and Indigo Buntings in the sun. A pair of Bald Eagles flew over the pipeline on cue and (of course) the Chimney Swifts put on a good show. There were at least seven Cliff Swallow nests in good shape under the aluminum bridge. One above River Road had an adult looking out.
Everyone enjoyed the nearly perfect sunny day and all the birds. |
