Trip leader: Dave Ziolkowski Date of trip: November 26, 2023
Location: Centennial Park Park Number attending: 22
ROUTE: After gathering at the west parking lot, 21 participants walked north around baseball fields 3 – 5 to bird the north fallow edge, then doubled back southward and followed the loop trail around the west side of the lake to Emy’s Meadow, then back down and around to near the boat house, before returning to the parking lot. We then took a quick drive to the easternmost parking lot to scan for waterfowl on the lake (car distance and commute time not included in the checklist effort)
WEATHER: Overcast, 33°F at start with calm conditions and bright but fully clouded sky. A light mist set in at the end the checklist as a warm front pushed in. Sunrise: 07:02.
GENERAL COMMENTS: Songbird activity was high but waterfowl numbers were comparatively low, both on the lake and in the region overall due to relatively warm fall temps up north.
